Hospice is end-of-life care that puts the focus on patient care rather than a interventional medical cure. We like to think of it as focusing on the patient and not the illness. Additionally, hospice care takes a broader approach at addressing the needs and desires of the patient and providing support for the patient’s family.
Hospice care encompasses a range of palliative services including: medical, physical, emotional and spiritual support, assistance with day-to-day activities, counselling, support, as well as bereavement services. At Horizons Hospice, we provide compassionate service, tailored to our patients’ complex needs so every hospice care plan we create is unique to the patient.

However, its important to note that a physician can not mandate where a patient has to receive hospice care. The right to choose where a patient receives hospice care belongs solely to the patient.
